CD3 Candidate Newsletter

Introduction from Alex

Hello! For those of you who aren’t familiar with me or with this campaign: my name is Alex Kelloff, and I’m currently the sole Democratic candidate for Colorado’s 3rd district. Our campaign’s been running since April of last year, and I hope you’ll follow along. You can also watch my campaign video here to learn more about me and why I’m running.

I've spoken to thousands of people in every corner of Colorado’s 3rd. I’ve met farmers, health care workers, small business owners, elected officials, law enforcement officers, environmentalists, and all of the other laborers, homemakers, activists, and professionals that make up this diverse and improbable district that we all call home.

Running for Congress isn’t easy, but the conversations I’m having across the district remind me of why I’m running. People are struggling — they’re worried about the cost of everyday life, they’re worried about the Medicaid cuts Jeff Hurd voted for, they’re wondering how our rural hospitals will manage to stay open, they’re worried about jobs for themselves and for their kids, they’re worried their neighbors or themselves might be swept up in ICE actions, and they’re worried about changes to the environment that threaten their way of life.

As I’ve discussed with many of you, I’m running to bring my 30+ years of business experience to address these worries with pragmatic solutions that I believe we can all get behind. I am not interested in partisan politics. I am interested in addressing the problems that all constituents of CO-3 face. Creating good jobs, lowering the cost of living, protecting our public lands and water, ensuring all have access to affordable healthcare and standing up for what is right, just and fair. And I promise you, I will fight every day to uphold the rule of law and ensure that Congress fulfills its constitutional obligation as a co-equal branch of government.

— Alex
