There is no doubt that Trump is a showman. He had his audience spellbound on his description of the shooting that could have taken his life. He had some women in tears, which is what he wanted to see. He wanted to show he is a compassionate person by having the fireman's uniform of the victim who died available at his rally. He walked over to it and kissed the helmet. Attendees ate it up. (I thought, where was Trump when Capitol police officers died and were injured during the Jan. 6th insurrection that he caused. No condolences for those families or officers by Trump).
He set the record for the longest acceptance speech. Yes, many of us wished Joe Biden had those speaking skills but at the same time if Trump had accomplished all the things he claimed to have done during his presidency, he would have won reelection in 2020 easily. Instead, Joe Biden is the one with the resume of accomplishments during his four-year term although you would never know it according to Trump's description of him.
Trump made sure all of his family was there and showed affection to them on camera although many wonder if he shows the same off camera. But again, he is a showman.
His rambling speech included a large amount of outright lies but those in attendance ate it all up not thinking about whether it was true, just willing to believe it all was. (Did you know Trump completed the wall on the southern border during his term? He said he did. Truth is he built 50 miles out of over 2000 miles of wall planned during his term).
Like many of you, I have a hard time understanding how so many people can be so gullible to his lies and deceit. The man lost the 2020 election by 7 million votes, lost the electoral college by a huge amount, had 62 court cases go against his claims of election fraud, saw Fox pay $787 million dollars to Dominion machines for defamation, saw Sidney Powell and Jena Ellis plead guilty for lying about election fraud, was found guilty of sexual assault and convicted on 34 counts in the Stormy Daniels hush-money trial and YET, those people, like sheep, stand there in awe of the man who they feel has god-like qualities. The dangerous thing is, he could possibly get away with all of these lies and destroy our country if all of us Dems don't band together and work together to overcome all of the dangerous things he and JD Vance stand for. I believe we will do it but first the Dems in Washington and Joe Biden have to decide who is running and get behind whoever it is and WIN in November. If we keep up this in-fighting it can only result in disaster to our democracy and that of other democracies around the world. Right now, Trump isn't beating us, we are beating ourselves. But to end on a good note, there are too many negative things about Trump/Vance that we can easily beat them when we start showing Trump for what he is and for what we have done and will continue to do for our country. Stay strong Dems. We can overcome!!
