We have a number of activities coming up in the next two months that need your attention. The items are on our agenda for discussion this evening.
A lot has transpired in the last couple of months including the abortion issue with the supreme court and the gun legislation discussions following the tragic events in Buffalo, New York and Uvalde, Texas. While we abhor the violence that occurred last month, the shootings and abortion issue could possibly be used to invigorate the electorate for this November for dems in hopes of holding on to the house and senate in Washington.
The June primary is coming up at the end of this month. We have three dems running to oppose CD3 congresswoman, Lauren Bobert assuming she wins her primary. Adam Frisch, Alex Walker and Sol Sandoval are vying to win the dems primary race to oppose Bobert.
We need to make a big effort in getting out the vote for the June primary. We’ll be discussing that in our meeting tonight.
A survey was sent out to many of you last month to voice your opinion on keeping the caucus/assembly process or do away with it. If you missed the survey sent by the cdp, i am sending it out again. I encourage getting rid of the caucus/assembly because of the time and effort involved. Colorado is one of only 5 states that still use this antiquated system. I hope you will fill out the survey in hopes of getting enough support to encourage the state to do away with it.
A reminder that if you have moved, changed marital status or name, you need to inform the county clerk to update your records.
May primaries across the country have seen some election deniers defeated and others elected. We must make sure in Colorado that we get out to vote and reelect our dems state officers.
